Joann (Abel) Davis, age 55, a resident of Willoughby for 18 years and previously of Painesville, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011.
She was born May 23, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio
Mrs. Davis was a proud member of the Lupus Foundation. She enjoyed graphic design, soap operas, reading, and listening to country music.
She was the loving mother of Bill Clark(Shawna Riley) of Eastlake; sister, Kathy (David) Soke.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Clydia Abel.

Kenneth J. Shuler, 71, of Concord Township and formerly of Willoughby, passed away peacefully April 10, 2011. He was born April 24, 1939, in Euclid, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia L.(nee Angert); son, Christopher J. of Cocoa Beach; daughter, Michele L. (Edward O'Brien) of Willoughby; brother, Gordon Shuler of Medina.
He was preceded in death by his parents Aldelbert and Louise(nee Alexander) Shuler; stepsister, Lois Santee.

Antonia (Zatorsky) Palmer, age 66, passed away Feb. 22, 2011, at her home in Lakeland, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, William Palmer; children, Denise (Jimmy) Cavallaro and Steven (Tina) Witt; stepchildren, Billy, Steve (Beth), and Valerie; grandchildren, Brandon, Carmen, Tucker, Emma, Ethan, Benjamin and Reanna; siblings, Audrey Zalar and William (Ele) Zatorsky; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Ann Pauline Zatorsky.
Private burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.

John F. Olafson, 39, of Lodi CA, died Monday at Euclid Hospital in Euclid, OH.
John was an avid sports fan. Among his beloved teams were the San Jose Sharks, San Francisco 49erÂ’s and NASCAR.
John is survived by the love of his life, Jen Fischer; his mother, Beverly Guinn of Lodi, CA; brothers, Wayne Larkin of Stockton, CA and Scott Olafson of Bend, OR; sister, Denise Vaughn of Lodi, CA; six nieces, four nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.
Carl Fischer
Carl H. FIscher was born on January 7, 1941 and left this earth on December 22, 2010. He was the son of Martin and Clara (Hocke) Fischer and lived in Columbus for the early part of his life.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Karen A. Fischer (Casselberry) they had been married 32 years. He leaves to mourn his brother-in-law Tim Casselberry (Judy) and his sister-in-law Lorraine Klicman (Chuck) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl was a kind and gentle soul and will be greatly missed. A memorial service is planned for the spring at the Rittman National Cemetery. Carl had been a resident of West Bay Health Center in Westlake, Ohio for the past six years.

She was a proud member of New Hope Baptist Church. She worked at Broadmoor School for the MRDD for over 37 years. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids.

Mary McCrone
Mary Teresa (nee Rendek) McCrone, 62, of Painesville, passed away January 20, 2011.
She was born October 29, 1948, in Baja, Hungary.
Mary was proud of her Hungarian heritage where she was a member of The Hungarian Reformed Church. Her faith and dedication was strong. She leaves behind many friends and especially the ones at SamÂ’s Club in Mentor where she has worked as a baker since the opening of the store. She enjoyed the Arts, museums, flowers. Most of all she loved her family. She took great pride spending time with her granddaughter Madelaine.
She was a 1967 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High and received her bachelor degree from Ursuline College. She was a member of William Penn Association and the Hungarian Genealogy Association.

Betty Jane Montague
Funeral Services for Betty Jane Montague, age 88, of Chester Township will be, 10am Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Gattozzi & Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township 44026. Mrs. Montague passed away peacefully November 5, 2010, with her son Jim by her side.
Born January 12, 1922 in Chester Township, she lived her entire life in Chester and was active in numerous organizations in Geauga County. She was a longtime member of the Republican Party. Member of the Great Geauga County Fair Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and she was a Charter member of the P.E.O. Organization. Betty’s parents owned one of the first “Harry and Mary’s Confectionary Store” across from Chester school then Betty continued in the business with a railroad salvage store in her basement until the early 60’s. She worked as director of the American Lung Association until elected Clerk of Courts in Geauga County where she was in office for 16 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her sons; James Allen(Barbara) of Chester Township, William Paul(Darlene) of Goliad, Texas; loving grandmother of Katie, Lindsay, Jamie, Jason and Amanda; great grandmother to four.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul William Montague, brother Donald Ditto and parents Harry and Mary Ditto. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Daniel passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Rainbow Babies & ChildrenÂ’s Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born September 10, 1992, in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a devoted son, brother, nephew, and grandson. Daniel celebrated his Irish tradition, loved to imitate an Irish brogue, and dreamed of a trip to Ireland. He had a unique sense of style and taste in music. He enjoyed art at Ledgemont High School and loved his red jeep “Molli”. Daniel was considering a career in nursing and had planned to start school this fall. He was a scuba diver and was working towards his rescue diver certification for the Montville Township fire department. He will truly never be forgotten by anyone who knew him.
Daniel was the loving son of William Joseph and Christina(Magoun) Swan III, of Thompson; caring brother of Joshua A.(Leigh) Swan of Willoughby, William J. Swan IV, of Las Vegas, Zachariah M. Swan of Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, Michael D. Swan serving in the U.S. Navy in Okinawa, Japan, Maggie Jo Swan of Thompson, and Brian M. Young of Thompson; Uncle of Bryar Mackenzie Swan; Grandson of Cy and Nancy Sydenstricker of Wickliffe; He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She loved arts and crafts, and especially loved spending her time with her grandkids.

Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Schleicher, age 79, of Kirtland, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Hospice of The Western Reserve in Cleveland, with her family by her side.
She was born May 18, 1931, in Cleveland.
After the passing of her loving husband of 19 years, Eugene J. Schleicher Sr., in 1975, Betty was all about spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren.
She was the beloved mother of Eugene J. Schleicher Jr. of Willoughby, Elaine (Harry) Cook of Concord Township, and Edward J. (Tammi) Schleicher of Charlotte, N.C.; sister of Marge (Don) Bard of Eastlake, Jim (Jean) McCoy of Eastlake, Tom (Kathy) McCoy of Willoughby, Jack (Geri) McCoy of Eastlake, Geri (Vince) Costello of Perry, Ella (John) Smith of Columbia Station, Ceil Congdon of Willoughby, and Kathy (Jim) Michalski of Madison; loving grandmother of James, Jonathon, Josiah, Jered Schleicher, Laura (Dave) Zehner, Frank (Amy) Cook, Amanda (Chad) Raebuck, Adam Cook, Eden and Jordan Schleicher; great-grandmother of eight; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and second cousins. Michael was the caring father of Michael Anthony Guarino of Willoughby Hills; loving son of Doris J. Guarino of Willoughby Hills and Angelo F. McKAY BIAGINA "BESSIE" McKAY, 90, of Garfield Hts., peacefully passed away on April 26, 2010, with her loving son Arthur by her side. Richard "Dick" Fishleigh
Richard "Dick" Fishleigh of Willoughby, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 23, 2010, after a brief and brave fight with cancer.
Born in 1933, in Kirtland, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served overseas during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of First Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1955.
He was a talented multi-sport athlete at Kirtland High School, a handyman who built a house for his young family in Kirtland and a good friend to many throughout his life.
He was passionate in his support of conservative politics, he loved classic movies, and was a particularly big fan of John Wayne. He always enjoyed a good debate and coming up with interesting trivia or puzzles to share with family and friends.
A member in good standing of the V.F.W. and American Legion, he was a family man who organized the Fishleigh-Dranse reunions for many years.
Dick worked most of his career in the lumber business and continued to work in that industry to the end of his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Harry and Annie; and brothers, Walter, William and Harry.
He is survived by his children, Joe (Terry) of Chagrin Falls, Mary Zimmer of Hambden and Robert (Sonja) of Willoughby; seven grandchildren; and his first wife and lifelong friend, Norma Hinkelman.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Joseph Franklin Minoski
Memorial services for Joseph F. Minoski, 82, of Willowick, will be 4p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 460 East 321st St. Willowick.
Mr. Minoski passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Hospice House in Cleveland with his family by his side.
Born March 6, 1927, in Westmoreland City, Pennsylvania, he had been a Lake County resident for the past 55 years living in Willowick. He had previously lived in Yukon, PA.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 678 Willowick. He loved spending time with his daughters and especially his
grandkids.
Mr. Minoski retired from National Acme, and worked in the maintenance department at Eastlake North High School.
He is the loving father of Linda J. Beil(Tim Tesar) of Willowick, Susan J.(Kevin) Smith of Charlotte, N.C., Gail A.(Mark) Vivaronda of Springhill, Tenn., Janet M.(Joe) Whalen of Perrysburg; cherished grandfather of 12; brother of John, James, Michael, Donald, William, Lucille, and Donna; longtime friend and former husband of Phyllis J. Moore of Willowick.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Edith Minoski; and brother Edward.

Robert H. Nowak Jr.
Robert H. Nowak Jr.., 67, passed away Dec. 31, 2009, at University Hospital in Cleveland, with his family by his side.
Born Dec. 29, 1942, in Mantua, he had been a Lake County resident, living in Mentor for the past 15 years, and had previously lived in Willoughby.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the N.C.C.C. Corvette Club, and volunteered with unmatched dedication to the Ridge Pointe Child Care Family in Mentor. He was known for his incredible ability to always be there when you needed him. His hobbies included various construction and remodeling jobs for friends and family.
Rob proudly served the people of Parker Hannifin for 30 years and will always be affectionately remembered as "The Pope."
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Julia Mae (Shifflett) Nowak of Mentor. He was the loving father of Robert C. Nowak of Willoughby, Tonja L. Schleicher of Mentor and Tracy R. (Robert Beverstock) Shifflett of Willoughby; caring grandfather of James, Jonathon, Josiah and Jered Schleicher, and Nathaniel Shifflett; brother of Richard R. Nowak of Mentor and Kathleen S. (William) Raymond of Brunswick; and uncle of Richard Nowak, Michael (Farha) Nowak, William Raymond and Kimberly (Steve) Yakowec.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Catherine (Christopher) Nowak.

John "Randy" Randolph Lashley III
John "Randy" Randolph Lashley III, age 78, of Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.
He was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Waynesboro, Pa.
Mr. Lashley worked for Landis Tool Company and Teledyne Inc.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was also a member of the local Elks 731, Eagles, and American Legion Post 15. He was a member of the Ohio Commodores and a graduate of Massanutten Military Academy and The University of Pittsburgh. He played semi-pro football for The Waynesboro Tigers. He had a passion for the game of golf and enjoyed playing cards with his poker club.
Survivors are his dearest daughters, Ann (Tony) Sender of Las Vegas, Nev., Laura (Ed) Perz of Willoughby, Barbara (Ben) Robinson of Willoughby, and Jan (Kevin) O'Donnell of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Karlee, Mackenzie, and Benjamin Robinson, and Andrew Perz; sister, Elizabeth (William) Cook of Waynesboro, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; and former wife, Barbara Potter (Jack) Walsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and John Lashley.

Robert A. Morehouse
Funeral Mass for Robert A. Morehouse, age 88, of Novelty for 56 years and formerly of Cleveland Heights, will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Mr. Morehouse passed away peacefully at his home Oct. 17, 2009.
He was born March 26, 1921, in Erie, Pa.
Mr. Morehouse was a member of Plumbers Local 55. He worked for Cleveland Plumbing and Heating, retiring from University Hospitals in 1983.
He was a tail gunner in the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II and was also a standout in baseball for the Air Force. He played in the St. Francis of Assisi and Forest Hills softball leagues. He was an avid golfer and loved teaching everyone how to golf. He looked forward to his winter Florida trips to Emerald Woods in Naples, where he leaves behind many friends.
He was the proud father of Nancy A. Coyne of Willoughby, Barbara A. (James) Montague of Chester Township, Butch (Shelley) of Chagrin Falls, Doug of Novelty, and Judith A. (John) Pellegrini of Willoughby; loving grandfather of Meghan (Kevin) Klicman, Kevin (Meg) Coyne, Erin (Matt) Duffy, Seamus (Melissa) Coyne, McPatrick Coyne, Katie (Sean) Malone, Lindsay (Toby) Soots, Jamie Montague, Brittany (Justin) Stark, Rob, Taylor and MacKenzie Morehouse, John (Alexis) Pellegrini, Danny and Brian Pellegrini; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty J. Aaron Phillip "Phil" West
Memorial services for Aaron Phillip "Phil" West, 41, of Orwell, will be 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at The Victory Lane Assembly of God, 5977 Andrews Road, Mentor-on-the-Lake, OH 44060. Pastor David Bill will officiate.
Mr. West died Aug. 18, 2009, at his residence in Orwell.
He was born Sept. 20, 1967, in Lake County, and was a longtime resident of Willoughby.
Mr. West enjoyed NASCAR racing, camping, fishing and boating. He also raced at Painesville Speedway. He graduated from Cardinal High School in Middlefield and was a member of Local Electrical Union 673.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron of Painesville, Brandon of Madison and, Vincent of Grand River; father, Gerald West of Maine; loving cousin, Merle Murphy of Willoughby; aunt, Rebecca (William) Schnittger of Chardon; uncles, Merle (Sally) Murphy Sr. of Orwell, William (Cindy) Murphy of Dorset, Patrick (Diane) Murphy of Rome, Max (Janet) Murphy of Mentor and Tim Murphy of Chester Township; several cousins; and special longtime friend, Angie Mangelo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Anne West.

Paul William Montague
Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a founding member of Chester Business Men's Association, later to be the Chester Chamber of Commerce. He was a longtime member of the Republican Party — precinct committeeman and party official. He was a member of the Chesterland Baptist Church. For more than 40 years he was a member of the Great Geauga County Fair Board, and for 35 of those years he was parking director. Paul was a member of the Chesterland Historical Society, Geauga County Historical Society and founder and charter member of V.F.W. Chardon Post. He was a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, NRA, and Disabled American Veterans. Paul's love of the outdoors stayed with him throughout his life as he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapshooting. He was an ideal husband. He loved traveling in his RV, and especially enjoyed spending time in Texas with his best friend, Gene Kenne. He spent his later retirement winters down south in Mission, Texas.
He was the ideal husband of his wife of 67 years, Betty Jane; devoted father of William Paul (Darlene) of Goliad, Texas, James Allen (Barbara) of Chester Township; loving grandfather of Jason, Amanda, Katie, Lindsay, and Jamie; great-grandfather of Jack and Quinn; and brother of Peggy Lou Pletcher of Wheeling, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Ray, Forest Fielding; and his sister, Goldie Mae Adams.

Alexis Anne Kittelson
Alexis played the clarinet in the Shore Middle School Band. She was always smiling and had friends everywhere. She loved her dog, Mercedes, and enjoyed ripstick and playing with Littlest Pet Shop toys.
She is survived by her parents, Mark R. (Rebecca) Kittelson of Mentor on the Lake; sister, Alyssa Lynn; brothers, Andrew Michael and Sean Patrick Kittelson; grandparents, Laurene Hughes of Willoughby, Margaret Dudas of Mentor and Robert (Lucia) Dudas of Mentor on the Lake; great-grandparents, Josephine Dudas of Wickliffe and Wilma Zehe of Wickliffe; aunts and uncles, Steven (Jackie) Kittelson of Willoughby Hills, Alice (David) Bennett of Mentor, Katherine (Mark) Coleman of Eastlake, Melissa Boling (Steven) of Mentor on the Lake, Maribeth (Jason) Jones of Mentor, Jonathon Dudas of Mentor on the Lake, and Christina Dudas of Mentor on the Lake. She is also survived by many cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial for Earl Anderson Jr., 82, of Willoughby, will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 37932 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. Anderson passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009, at his home.
Born June 16, 1927, in Waid Township, he was a longtime Willoughby resident.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Willoughby. He was a 1945 graduate of the former Willoughby Union High School. He was an avid reader who enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing pool and spending time with his family.
Mr. Anderson was a self-employed barber, operating his own barber shop on Vine Street in Willoughby for more than 50 years, and also operated Anderson Music Store for about 20 years.
He is survived by his children, David (Donna) Anderson of Willoughby, Don (Joanne) Anderson of Willoughby Hills, Janet (Chris) Frey of Euclid, Ken (Dawn) Anderson of Kirtland and Tom Anderson of Gates Mills; grandchildren, Eric, Daniel (Carin), Ann (Chris) Boehnen, Patrick, Lindsay, Meredith, Megan, Alyssa, Emma, Olivia and Sarah Anderson and Maureen (Adam Munson), Lauren (Jeremiah Swetel), Katie, Marie, David and Tim Frey; 10 great grandchildren; and brother, Ted (Louise) Anderson of Willowick. He also leaves his nieces and nephews and their families.
His beloved wife of 54 years, Marjorie A. (Simon) Anderson, passed away Oct. 30, 2002. His parents, Earl Sr. and Hazel (Spencer) Anderson, are also deceased.
